Mathematical poems

Besides the interplay between painting and poetry, I'm fascinated by the interplay between mathematics and poetry. I am collecting poems that use mathematical imagery or metaphors - Gerrit Achterberg is a notable examples of a poet who uses math metaphors to extend his poetical world with new images and meanings. Or consider this poem by Howard Nemerov:
Creation Myth on a Moebius Band
This world's just mad enough to have been made
by the Being his beings into Being prayed.

The Moebius band is an excellent image of the bizarre, agnostic twist of mind.

If you have poems with math in it, no matter the language, I'm very happy to receive them.

Poems on Bruegels 'The Fall of Icarus'

Icarus' farmerI wrote my graduate thesis on 'Bildgedichte' (image poems), analyzing some 40 poems written on 'The Fall of Icarus' by Pieter Brueghel the Elder (Musée des Beaux Arts, Brussels). A fragment from the thesis, on the poems by Judith Herzberg, is online - in Dutch only. Besides, I've put the bibliography of poems on 'The Fall of Icarus' online. I'd be very grateful if you inform me of other poems on the painting not on the list - in any language!

Sometime, I would like to make a publication of the thesis, or write an article on the most interesting poems, if ever I will make free some time for this. If a publisher or editor is interested, please let me know, and we can discuss a publication.
